Ajayan was born in 1970 in Kummallur, a serene village in Kerala’s Kollam district. Growing up amid the rhythms of rural life and the subtle presence of nature, his earliest understanding of form, texture, and balance emerged naturally—from land, seasons, and everyday human presence.
He graduated in Sculpture from the College of Fine Arts, Thiruvananthapuram, where he learned to converse with materials such as stone, wood, and metal—each revealing its own hidden voice and timeless wisdom. In 2005, he joined the Government Engineering College, Thrissur, as Fine Arts Faculty in the Department of Architecture. For over two decades, he balanced the twin callings of teaching and artistic practice, discovering in both the same pursuit of rhythm, balance, and meaning.
His sculptures have been exhibited in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, and Thrissur, reflecting a deep-rooted connection to Indian culture and spiritual inquiry. His works emerge from the spaces between discipline and freedom—where traditional craftsmanship meets abstract imagination, and where form becomes a meditation on the unseen.
Now embracing sculpture as his full-time devotion, Ajayan continues to explore the tactile poetry of materials. Every curve, fracture, and surface becomes a quiet conversation—a dialogue between the permanence of matter and the transience of thought. Through this ongoing journey, he seeks not merely to shape the visible, but to give form to the invisible rhythm of being.
Currently based in Kollam, Kerala.
For years, Ajayan explored different intellectual and spiritual paths—from strict materialist perspectives to contemporary spiritual teachings—in search of a coherent understanding of the universe and his place within it. Influenced by thinkers such as Fritjof Capra, James Redfield, and Eckhart Tolle, this search eventually led him back to the unifying philosophies articulated by the great sages of India across centuries.
At the core of his artistic vision lies a single truth: the entire cosmos—every person, every star, every atom—is a unique and beautiful expression of the same fundamental unity. This awareness is what truly activates and inspires his creative process.
His artistic practice is a humble attempt to translate India’s profound philosophy, heritage, and culture into visual experiences. His purpose is simple yet deep—to create art that generates a moment of awareness, allowing the viewer to pause, reflect, and recognize the oneness that connects us all.
Ajayan works primarily with stone, wood, and metal, engaging deeply with the tactile and spiritual nature of each medium. His process respects traditional craftsmanship while allowing space for abstraction, intuition, and silence.
Rather than imposing form, he listens—to material, to memory, and to the unseen forces that shape both.
